Flamingos
Flamingos like to be together! They like to gather in huge groups and honk like geese. They like to stand on one leg and rest, and they like to eat lots of fish.
Flamingos look for fish and other small water animals in shallow lakes. They wade in the water with their webbed feet, stirring up the bottom of the lake. Then all the little fish come to the top, and the flamingos use their big beaks to scoop up the catch.
Flamingo babies are born in nests built right in shallow water. What kind of swimmers do you think flamingo babies are? Right! Very good swimmers!
Los flamencos buscan peces y otros animalitos en el agua de los lagos poco profundos. Andan sobre terreno cubierto de agua con sus patas palmeadas, agitando el fondo del lago. Asì todos los pescaditos van hacìa arriba, y los flamencos usan sus picos grandes para agarrarlos.
