Heavens
Craggy rockpile, dense, dark, unknown.Mid-August, Pleiades rising, heaven circling
Behind the flaming Persides:
Jagged Cassiopeia, faint Hercules, gemmy Orion,
Color shifts to outer realms of creation:
Deneb whitely tails Cygnus, Vega plays Lyra in blue,
Antares, ruby blaze of Scorpius.
Is this heaven---or only layered light:
A tapestry of immense space and time?
